The Historic Kent-Valentine HouseServing as headquarters
for The Garden Club of Virginia and
Historic
Garden Week, the
Kent-Valentine House is the central office for our staff,
committee members, the Board of Directors and member clubs.
The facility is also available to host private meetings and
events. The Kent-Valentine House contains exceptional works of art and furnishings donated by generous friends and members of The Garden Club of Virginia. It has been restored to its 19th century grandeur and renovated to meet the needs of the 21st century. Flanked by majestic magnolia trees and with Roman Ionic columns creating an architectural effect of elegance, this imposing eighteen room ante bellum residence is one of the last mansions in downtown Richmond surrounded by trees. The Kent-Valentine House offers a unique setting to hold a business meeting or special gathering. Our lovely antique furnishings, coupled with impeccable service, lend an exclusive feel to each private and corporate event. For intimate dinners or small social gatherings, our service staff will present every guest with personalized attention, providing quality service that complements your needs. The Kent-Valentine House is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is a Virginia Historic Landmark. As stewards of the property, The Garden Club of Virginia strives to preserve the history and the integrity of the house and its antiquities.
