Daffodil Day 2020

Daffodils through the Centuries: A Reflection

I want to thank all the dedicated daffodil growers who spend so much time and effort on their gardens producing top show quality specimens. I also want to thank all the casual gardeners who produce show quality specimens and bundles of cut flowers for arrangements. This year provided us with hundreds of ribbon winners and lovingly made arrangements of daffodils. While none of these beauties made it to Lewis Ginter for our one day show, they bloomed and brightened our days at home.

I finally want to thank those who would not let Daffodil Day disappear this year. Photography exhibitors proceeded with a digitally judged show - a first for GCV. Many who registered for the Artistic Design created arrangements and sent photographs for sharing. GCV Daffodil Chairman Janet Hickman sent photos of her 1930 GCV Test Collection specimens.

Daffodil Day wasn't cancelled after all, it was reimagined. Welcome to Digital Daffodil Day!
